Job Title: Emergency Room Nurse
Job Summary:
The Emergency Room Nurse provides care for patients experiencing medical emergencies in the emergency department. They assess patients, administer medication, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure patient care needs are met in a timely and efficient manner.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Conduct initial patient assessments and triage patients based on severity of condition
2. Administer medication and treatment as prescribed by the attending physician
3. Monitor and evaluate patient responses to treatment and adjust care plan as needed
4. Assist with emergency medical procedures such as intubation, CPR, and wound care
5. Communicate with patients and families to provide education and support during emergencies
6. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans
7. Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for each patient
8. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures to ensure patient safety and confidentiality
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Valid RN license in the state of practice
2. BLS and ACLS certification
3. At least 2 years of experience working as a registered nurse, preferably in an emergency department
4. Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
6. Ability to work well under pressure in fast-paced environments
7. Knowledge of emergency medical procedures and protocols
