Job Summary:
The Float Pool Nurse will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in various units including Medical Surgical, Cardiac Telemetry, Step Down ICU, and ICU. This role requires flexibility and adaptability to work in different settings and support patient needs across multiple departments.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assess and monitor patient conditions, implementing appropriate nursing interventions.
2. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
3. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans.
4. Provide patient education and support to promote wellness and recovery.
5. Maintain accurate and complete medical records.
6. Adhere to hospital policies and procedures to ensure patient safety and quality of care.
7. Participate in continuous training and professional development opportunities.
8. Serve as a resource and mentor for less experienced staff members.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Active RN license in the state of practice.
2. BLS and ACLS certification.
3. Minimum of 2 years of experience in Medical Surgical, Cardiac Telemetry, Step Down ICU, or ICU settings.
4. Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
7. Flexibility to work varying shifts and locations as needed.
