Job Title: Lab Section Supervisor (Lab Manager)
Job Summary:
The Lab Section Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the laboratory section, managing staff, ensuring quality control and compliance with regulations, and maintaining accurate records of testing and results.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Supervise and coordinate the activities of laboratory staff, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations.
2. Ensure that all laboratory procedures are performed accurately, safely, and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
3. Monitor quality control measures and implement corrective actions as needed to maintain accuracy and precision of test results.
4. Maintain and update laboratory policies and procedures to adhere to industry standards and best practices.
5. Manage inventory of supplies and equipment, including ordering, tracking, and maintenance.
6. Collaborate with other departments and healthcare providers to ensure efficient and effective delivery of laboratory services.
7. Assist with troubleshooting technical issues and providing guidance to laboratory staff.
8. Participate in continuous education and training to stay current with advances in laboratory technology and best practices.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field.
2. Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Technologist (MT) preferred.
3. Minimum of 3 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
4. Strong knowledge of laboratory operations, quality control, and regulatory requirements.
5. Excellent communication and leadership skills.
6. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
7. Proficient in computer skills, including experience with laboratory information systems.
