Job Title: Med Surg Ortho Neurology Nurse
Job Summary:
As a Med Surg Ortho Neurology Nurse, you will be responsible for providing care to patients with orthopedic and neurological conditions in a medical-surgical setting. You will assess patient health needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assess and monitor patients' conditions
2. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
3. Educate patients and their families on treatment plans
4. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals
5. Document patient care in medical records
6. Provide emotional support to patients and their families
7. Assist with mobility and rehabilitation exercises
8. Monitor and report changes in patient status
9. Assist with wound care and post-operative care
10. Ensure a safe and comfortable environment for patients
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Current RN license
2. Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical-surgical nursing
3. Certification in orthopedic or neurology nursing preferred
4. Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
6. Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
7. BLS certification
8. ACLS certification
9. Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
10. Knowledge of orthopedic and neurological conditions and treatments
