Job Title: Med Surg/Tele/CCU Float Pool Nurse
Job Summary:
The Med Surg/Tele/CCU Float Pool Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality care to patients in medical-surgical, telemetry, and critical care units. This role involves floating between units as needed, adjusting to different types of patients and conditions, and maintaining flexibility in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Provide direct patient care in accordance with established policies and procedures.
2. Monitor and assess patients' conditions, administer medications, and implement treatment plans.
3. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
4. Float between medical-surgical, telemetry, and critical care units as needed.
5. Adhere to safety and infection control protocols at all times.
6. Document patient assessments, interventions, and responses to treatment accurately and timely.
7. Participate in professional development activities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
8. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
9. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and uphold ethical standards.
10. Assist with patient education and discharge planning as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Current RN licensure in the state of practice.
2. BLS and ACLS certification required.
3. Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical-surgical, telemetry, or critical care nursing.
4. Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
5. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Flexibility and adaptability to changing work environments.
8. Commitment to providing compassionate and quality patient care.
9. Proficiency in electronic health record systems.
10. Willingness to work variable shifts, including nights and weekends.
