Job Description
Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technician/Medical Technologist
Job Summary:
As a Medical Laboratory Technician/Medical Technologist, you will be responsible for conducting tests and analyses in a medical laboratory setting to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. You will work under the supervision of a medical technologist or pathologist to perform a variety of laboratory procedures.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Collect, prepare and analyze blood, urine, and other body fluid samples
- Perform various tests, such as microbiology, hematology, and chemistry tests
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure proper functioning
- Follow strict protocols and procedures to ensure accurate and reliable test results
- Record and report test results to healthcare providers
- Assist in quality control and quality assurance activities
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field
- Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Technologist (MT) preferred
- Previous experience working in a medical laboratory setting
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
