Job Title: Operating Room (OR) Nurse
Job Summary:
The Operating Room Nurse is responsible for assisting in surgical procedures, ensuring the safety and well-being of patients before, during, and after surgery. They work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare team members to provide quality patient care in the operating room.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Prepare operating room for surgical procedures
2. Assist surgeons during surgeries
3. Monitor patient vital signs and anesthesia administration
4. Provide postoperative care and monitor patient recovery
5. Maintain sterile and safe operating room environment
6. Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure patient needs are met
7. Educate patients and families on postoperative care instructions
8. Document patient care and procedures accurately
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Registered Nurse (RN) license
2. BLS and ACLS certification
3. Strong communication and organizational skills
4. Ability to work well under pressure
5. Attention to detail and critical thinking skills
6. Knowledge of surgical procedures and equipment
7. Prior experience in the operating room is preferred
