Job Summary:
As a Post Anesthesia Care Unit Nurse (PACU), you will be responsible for providing care and support to patients who have undergone surgery and are in the recovery stage. You will monitor their vital signs, manage post-operative pain, and ensure a safe and comfortable recovery process.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assessing patients' post-operative condition and monitoring vital signs.
2. Administering medications and managing pain as needed.
3. Ensuring patients are properly hydrated and comfortable during the recovery process.
4. Communicating with the surgical team to provide updates on patients' progress.
5. Educating patients and their families on post-operative care and follow-up instructions.
6. Collaborating with other healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Valid RN license and CPR certification.
2. Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
3. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a PACU or critical care setting.
4. Strong assessment and communication skills.
5. Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
6. Excellent critical thinking and decision-making skills.
