Job Title: Scrub Technologist
Job Summary:
The Scrub Technologist plays a vital role in the operating room by assisting surgeons and nurses during surgical procedures. They are responsible for preparing the operating room, sterilizing equipment, and passing instruments to surgeons during procedures.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Prepare the operating room by sterilizing equipment and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
2. Assist surgeons and nurses by passing instruments and supplies during surgical procedures.
3. Maintain a sterile environment in the operating room to prevent infections.
4. Help count sponges, needles, and other surgical tools before and after procedures to ensure nothing is left inside the patient.
5. Assist with cleaning and organizing the operating room after procedures are completed.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. High school diploma or equivalent required; certification as a surgical technologist preferred.
2. Previous experience working as a scrub technologist or in a similar role.
3. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
4. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
5. Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
