Job Summary:
The Service Unit Department Manager RN for Interventional Radiology/Medical Imaging is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the radiology department. This includes managing staff, ensuring quality patient care, and collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide the best possible outcomes for patients undergoing interventional radiology procedures.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Manage the daily operations of the radiology department, including scheduling, staffing, and workflow.
2. Ensure that all interventional radiology procedures are performed in a safe and efficient manner.
3. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop treatment plans and coordinate care for patients undergoing interventional radiology procedures.
4. Supervise staff, including hiring, training, and evaluating performance.
5. Monitor and evaluate quality assurance data to ensure that standards of care are being met.
6. Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve patient outcomes and streamline operations.
7. Serve as a liaison between the radiology department and other departments within the healthcare organization.
8. Stay up-to-date on the latest advances in interventional radiology and medical imaging technology.
9. Manage department budget and resources effectively.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Current RN license in the state of practice.
2. Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field required.
3. At least 5 years of clinical nursing experience, with a minimum of 2 years in interventional radiology or medical imaging.
4. Previous management experience preferred.
5. Strong leadership and communication skills.
6. Knowledge of healthcare regulations and standards.
7. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
8. Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
9. Certification in Radiology Nursing (CRN) preferred.
