Job Title: Sterile Processing Tech
Job Summary:
The Sterile Processing Tech is responsible for properly sterilizing and processing medical equipment and supplies to ensure the safety and well-being of patients. They are also responsible for maintaining and organizing sterile storage areas and equipment.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Sterilize and process medical equipment and supplies following established protocols and guidelines.
2. Inspect and test sterilization equipment to ensure proper functioning.
3. Organize and maintain sterile storage areas to ensure cleanliness and organization.
4. Assemble and prepare medical equipment and supplies for use in surgical procedures.
5. Communicate with healthcare staff to ensure proper handling and storage of sterile equipment.
6. Assist in training and mentoring new staff members on proper sterilization procedures.
7. Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes and equipment maintenance.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. High School diploma or equivalent.
2. Certification in Sterile Processing preferred.
3. Knowledge of sterilization techniques and equipment.
4. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
5. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
6. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
7. Ability to lift and move heavy equipment.
8. Knowledge of OSHA and CDC guidelines for sterilization.
