Job Title: Surgical Technologist
Job Summary:
As a Surgical Technologist, you will be responsible for assisting surgeons during surgical procedures, ensuring that the operating room is set up properly, and maintaining a sterile environment. You will work closely with the surgical team to ensure the safety and well-being of patients throughout the surgical process.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Prepare the operating room for surgery by setting up surgical instruments and equipment
- Assist surgeons during procedures by handing them instruments and supplies
- Maintain a sterile environment in the operating room by following strict infection control protocols
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and ensure that all necessary supplies are readily available
- Assist with patient positioning and draping before surgery
- Help clean and sterilize surgical instruments after procedures
- Document and maintain accurate records of surgical procedures
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Completion of an accredited surgical technology program
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology and surgical procedures
