Nursing Assistant Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursing Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients in various settings, including nursing homes and urgent care facilities. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care, particularly for individuals with disabilities and the elderly. As a Nursing Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for patients by assisting with daily activities and monitoring their health.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
  • Provide urgent care support as needed, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Assist in mobility by helping patients lift or move as required.
  • Work collaboratively with nursing staff to implement care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the medical office or nursing home environment.
  • Document patient progress and report any changes in condition to nursing staff.
  • Engage with patients to provide emotional support and companionship.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of patient care techniques and practices.
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with geriatrics and the unique needs of elderly patients.
  • Ability to accurately measure and record vital signs.
  • Basic understanding of human physiology related to patient care.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients and healthcare teams.
  • Physical stamina to lift patients and perform tasks that require standing for extended periods.
  • Compassionate demeanor with a strong commitment to providing high-quality care.

Pay: $23.55 - $25.58 per hour
