Adult Intensive Outpatient Counselor IOP
Job Title: Adult Intensive Outpatient Substance Abuse Counselor IOP
Status: Full-Time
Level: High School Diploma or AA or BA in Human Service-related field and a CSAC Certified by the State of Hawaii
Dept: Addictions
Location: Kona, HI
Responsibilities: The Counselor position is responsible for a variety of treatment services to include: referral, screening, assessment, intake and orientation, treatment and discharge planning, crisis management, counseling (individual and group), education, case management, charting, and community outreach.
Experience:High School Diploma or G.E.D. and 3 years of professional, counseling experience; or Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work or a Human Service-Related Field, 1 year of professional counseling experience, and a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) through the State Department of Health, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Division.
Knowledge: At least 3 years professional experience working with clients who have substance abuse problems, with a High School Diploma or G.E.D or at least 1-year professional experience working with clients who have substance abuse problems, with a Bachelor’s Degree.
Required Skills:Mature, reliable and responsible. Detail oriented and quick learner. Ability to multitask while dealing with frequent interruptions. Proficient in general computer use including Microsoft Office and Internet. Ability to work effectively as a team with good interpersonal skills. Accurate data-entry skills a must.
