Position Summary: Care Hawaii Inc. is a behavioral health care organization seeking a compassionate and dependable BHCSCC Mental Health Assistant to support the statewide call center. CARE Hawaii Inc., contracts with the State of Hawaii to provide Behavior Health Crisis and Suicide Call Center services. Employment is dependent upon program and operational needs, satisfactory work performance, availability of funds, and compliance with all Federal and State laws. CARE Hawaii is looking for individuals who are responsible for organizing, coordinating, and monitoring all non-clinical operations of the program under the direction of the BHCSSS Shift Lead. This may include the coordination of the information system, providing receptionist activities, as well as maintaining program files, financial records, data entry records, and other administrative responsibilities. CARE Hawaii will be offering twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven days a week support to access services for community members in need of crisis support, treatment, and recovery for behavioral health and mental health. Services include but not limited to, supportive counseling, screening for urgent mental health needs, referrals for behavioral health assessment and services, authorizing dispatch crisis services, providing information on community-based resources, data collection and evaluation of activities. Position Qualifications: • Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; Associates (AA) or Bachelors (BA) in Human Services preferred but not mandatory • Minimum Field-of-Experience: Unit Clerk, medical clinic, or another related field • Preferred Experience: Experience in the field of Human Services or office management or both; knowledge of medical terminology. • Required Certification/Registration: o TB o Background Check Job Competencies • Required Skills: Mature, reliable, and responsible. Must have clear, concise, and empathetic communication skills. Must be culturally sensitive and aware. Must know the basics of ethics, HIPPA standards, and problem solving. Duties and Responsibilities: Regular communication with Shift Leads, MHT’s, and when needed, Adult Mental Health Division, Community Care Services, etc. Prepares files for BHCSCC Collects necessary data and prepares reports Monthly and Quarterly Reports Tracks completion of trainings and communicates with staff regarding what is missing Assists with Audit preparation and maintains binders for CARE, OCHA and other pertinent audits Assists in tracking authorizations and Utilization Management and additional unit requests Other Duties Assist with Quality Improvement development and monitoring Participate in team meetings Ensuring the office environment is suitable and clean for team members Prepare written or electronic reports as requested Willingly perform other duties/responsibilities as requested Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice.
