Position Summary:
Care Hawaii is seeking a compassionate and dependable Program Assistant to support the daily functions of our behavioral health crisis center. As a member of a multidisciplinary team, you will organize, coordinate, and monitor all non-clinical operations under the direction of the Director and/or Program Managers. Your role includes managing day to day operations, coordinating information systems, handling receptionist activities, and acting as a liaison between stakeholders.
Position Qualifications:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Human Services preferred. Candidates should have at least one year of general office experience, preferably in human services or office management, and knowledge of medical terminology. Required certifications include CPR/First Aid (available upon hired), TB, Background Check, and CPI (available upon hire).
Essential skills include clear communication, cultural sensitivity, awareness and understanding of mental health population, understanding of ethics and HIPAA standards, and basic technical skills.
Working Environment and Physical Demands:
The role involves working in both indoor and outdoor settings, with potential travel, overtime, and weekend work. You must be able to sit for long periods, handle a high volume of calls, and communicate effectively with our multidiciplinary team. The position requires maintaining accurate records, assisting with audits, and ensuring compliance with federal and state laws. Flexibility and the ability to respond to the needs of a multidisciplinary team are crucial.
