Care Initiatives is seeking a Director of Procurement and Vendor Management. As the largest single operator of quality nursing homes in Iowa, Care Initiatives has over forty (40) skilled nursing communities, seven (7) hospice offices (and growing!), plus our own internal staffing agency. The Director of Procurement and Vendor Management will set procurement strategies and best practices to obtain materials, goods and services that support business needs for all Care Initiatives locations. Strategies and practices will maintain high ethical standards that follow any compliance requirements and align with Care Initiatives mission, vision, and goals. The Director of Procurement and Vendor Management will continually evaluate vendor relationships and pricing agreements as well as evaluate potential new vendor relationships.

Key responsibilities of the Director of Procurement and Vendor Management:
- Negotiate, implement and manage materials, goods and service agreements for all Care Initiatives locations.
- Seek cost savings and efficiencies by negotiating with suppliers and vendors to deliver the best value to the organization.
- Negotiate vendor contracts, manage ongoing relationships and continually evaluate vendor relationships and performance.
- Develop reports to track metrics and identify trends or issues that impact inventory levels.
- Resolve any shipping, delivery, ordering or system issues that may impact expected inventory replenishment targets.
- Partner with the legal team to monitor, evaluate and track all contracts utilizing contract management ideologies and software tools.
- Monitor and track a required, preferred and approved vendor/supplier listing that each Care Initiatives location may purchase products, goods and services from.
- Prepare and present procurement reports and outcomes to senior leadership team.
- Monitors and ensures the organization's compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews and recommends modifications to policies and practices to maintain compliance in relation to procurement and vendor management.
- Manages additional responsibilities as requested to accomplish department and overall Care Initiatives goals and objectives.
- Bachelor's degree in supply management, business management or administration, accounting or related field or combination of education and relevant experience is required.
- Five years progressive purchasing or supply chain management experience - preferably at the corporate or enterprise level.
- Post-acute, long-term care and/or healthcare experience in a multi-site matrixed organization is highly preferred.
