Billing - Revenue Cycle Specialist

Required Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of medical billing experience
- Experience with episodic billing, with Medicare experience preferred
- Excellent computer skills and written/verbal communication skills
- Ability and willingness to learn specialized software programs and portals
- Highly organized with a positive, team-oriented demeanor
- Willingness to work in our office full-time
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Handle episodic and commercial home health billing follow-up
- Review remittance from multiple payer portals and internal clearinghouse
- Retrieve home health specific eligibility information from multiple payer portals
- Create and submit invoices for billing
- Resolve payer-specific and process-related issues affecting reimbursement
- Manage patient invoicing and collections
- Faxes/processes physician orders and tracks for a timely return
- Assists with the internal or external transfer of patients between Home Health and Hospice services, if applicable
- Responds promptly to telephone, electronic, and written requests for medical records
- Monitor faxes and email faxes
- Maintains relationships with physicians, physician staff, and hospital staff in regard to unsigned orders to ensure return within regulatory guidelines
- Performs general office duties for the department, including, data entry, filing, faxing, copying, mail handling/correspondence, scanning, and printing functions
- Perform additional assigned duties
