Position Overview:
At Care Management by Natalie, we seek compassionate and dedicated individuals who are passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of the elderly. As a Geriatric Companion, you will play a vital role in providing emotional support, social interaction, and assistance with activities that enrich seniors' daily lives. Key Responsibilities:
- Engage seniors in meaningful conversations, recreational activities, and social outings that contribute to a fulfilling and joyful life.
- Assist with daily living tasks such as meal preparation, light housekeeping, and social engagement, while fostering independence as much as possible.
- Accompany clients to appointments, events, and errands, providing transportation and companionship.
- Observe and report any changes in the client’s health, behavior, or needs to the care management team.
- Work collaboratively with the care management team to implement the care plan and contribute to its ongoing adjustment to suit the client’s evolving preferences and requirements.
- Uphold our core values by treating all clients with honesty, hopefulness, and honoring their dignity at every turn.
What You’ll Bring:
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- A naturally empathetic and engaging personality that resonates warmth, hope, and respect with our elderly clients.
- An ability to listen actively and encourage clients to share their stories, participate in activities, and stay connected with their interests.
- A commitment to maintaining the highest levels of discretion and confidentiality in respect to client privacy.
- Reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record.
- Willingness to drive clients and assist them in and out of vehicle.
- Can see clients within 15 miles or less of our main office in Ann Arbor.
- Can take multiple shifts in day that require driving between locations
- Can lift, carry, and handle objects up to 45 pounds
- Ability to prepare simple meals for seniors is a plus
