Job Summary :
The Providence Center Peer Recovery Specialist Anchor MORE provides Outreach Recovery Support with people in RI communities who are in need of recovery support. Peer Recovery Specialists provide individual and group support in multiple settings, and provide referrals for resources like detox, housing, outpatient treatment, clothing / food, and overdose prevention / Narcan training. This staff member also provides educational outreach to providers and community groups.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Provide community outreach including distributing harm reduction supplies, Narcan, transport to treatment, canvassing hot spots where overdoses are high.
- Provide individual recovery support.
- Facilitate recovery support groups.
- Provide information and referrals for community-based resources.
- Serve as advocate for program participants and assist them to develop self-advocacy skills.
- Complete all required documentation clearly and on time.
- Communicate effectively and respectfully with all program participants and coworkers; and with community partners. Maintain positive relationships.
- Complete all trainings as assigned.
- Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
