Job Summary: The Internal Medicine Care Coordinator provides support in the clinical and office functions of the gastroenterology department. The incumbent serves as a key contact for patients visiting the department, greeting patients, explaining tests and procedures, and answering questions. Coordinates paperwork for patient visit, prepares patient for exams and tests, and serves as a resource to assist patients and staff. Schedules tests and visits, performs administrative/clerical duties, and provides backup to other staff to ensure efficient patient processing.
Specifications: High school graduate with Medical Assistant required and three to five years experience in a medical office or similar setting. Graduate of phlebotomy program highly desirable. Strong organization, interpersonal and communication skills required. Must have demonstrated ability to perform in fast-paced environment and handle multiple duties. Proficiency in the English language required; fluency in Spanish very helpful.
