Responsibilities
Vocational/technical training and a minimum of one year’s job related experience or equivalent is required. Supervisor experience preferred. Phlebotomy certificate required.

Responsibilities
- Performs all duties of the Outpatient draw stations and inpatient departments which include all forms of phlebotomy on all age levels, specimen handling, patient interviewing and miscellaneous paperwork.
- Performs supervisory responsibilities such as hiring, interviewing, conducting performance evaluations, assisting with setup of new outpatient services and providing disciplinary actions.
- Oversees work of others by assigning work and providing guidance as needed. Orients and trains new employees.
- Assists with the creation or revision of procedures/policies to ensure efficient workflow and productivity. Monitors accordingly. Establishes and maintains a filing system for department records.
- Responds to and directs telephone inquiries pertaining to physicians and patients.
- Prepares statistical reports as established, delivering to Laboratory Manager. Reports any unusual problems to Laboratory Manager.
- Maintains a proper inventory of supplies needed in order to provide continuous service.
- Develop and maintain courier system to ensure timely specimen delivery.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned.
