Job Description:

• The Speech Therapist Assistant will provide support to our Speech Language Pathologists in a school-based setting.

Responsibilities:

• Assist Speech Language Pathologists in conducting assessments and developing individualized treatment plans.
• Provide direct therapy services to students under the supervision of a licensed Speech Language Pathologist.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure effective communication and goal implementation.
• Maintain accurate records of patient progress and communicate with parents and healthcare providers as needed.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in areas such as speech therapy techniques, child development, and special education law.

Requirements:

• Pediatric focus and/or School-Based experience preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Self-motivated, with strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize time and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of data and information.
• Knowledge of therapy skills as defined by generally accepted standards of practice.
• Excellent communication – verbal and written, and interpersonal skills.
• Responsive to requests.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and current auto liability insurance.

Education/License/Certification:

• Bachelor's Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from an accredited institution of higher education.
• Current Active State License to practice Speech Therapy in Alaska.
