Responsibilities of Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs)
- Medication administration per physician orders
- Physician-ordered treatments for:
- Nutrition via a feeding tube
- Tracheostomy care
- Suctioning: nasal, oral, and/or endotracheal
- Ventilation care
- Seizure assessment and treatment
Requirements for Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs)
- Current, active Florida LPN license
- Current BLS CPR card (obtained in-person)
- G-tube, trach, vent experience, or willingness to train
- TB Skin Test (PPD) or TB Blood Test (QF)
- Alzheimer's training: 2-Hour DOEA Approved Course (provided at no cost if needed)
- 1-Hour DOEA Alzheimer's Video (available on the DOEA website)
