Job Duties
Monitors, issues, receives, delivers, and stocks Central Service inventory items as directed to ensure that customers are never out of items needed for patient care.
Requires skills in working with computers, printers, and software programs to enter materials management information
Must be able to problem-solve and work independently to assist customers.
Performs inventory, supply picking and par-level supply restocking for nursing and ancillary patient areas to ensure disposable and reusable medical supplies and equipment are available for patient use.
Maintains disaster carts, for external disasters.
Checks and restocks code carts for exchange.
Sets up basic frame assembly for traction.
Maintains records to ensure correct inventory numbers.
Meets qualifications and competences as identified in the unit/department-specific plan for providing care.
Utilizes interpersonal skills to maximize customer service and safe patient care.
Contributes to a work environment of caring and cooperation among a culturally diverse workforce.
Follows directions, manages multiple assignments effectively, organizes and prioritizes workload.
Works well under pressure; recall information with accuracy.
Pushes/pulls carts, moves/lifts heavy equipment or supplies up to 70 pounds with prolonged standing, walking, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling and crouching.
Customer Service: respect, flexibility, knowledge, confidence, professionalism, pleasant attitude, patience and helpfulness. All responses should be timely, professional, caring, and respectful in accordance with Customer Service Performance expectations
Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental, and infection control standards. Assesses gaps in policies and procedures, and create necessary policies and procedures to fulfill these gaps.

JOB SETTING/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Works in precarious or high locations (ladders, scaffolding, etc.); Sterile Processing Area and Supply Distribution Area.
Operates steam sterilizer and washer/disinfector; the noise level is usually moderate; work is fast paced.
Subject to shift rotation.
Subject to exposure to blood borne pathogens, dust, fumes, odors, mists, gasses, biological, mechanical, electrical, chemical and other hazardous materials.
The incumbent is expected to adhere to the Hospital’s Drug and Smoke Free work environment and to adhere to OSHA mandates and precautionary measures.
