Duties
- Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to patients to help improve their overall well-being.
- Monitor patient health by observing and reporting any changes in condition to healthcare staff.
- Help with mobility assistance, including transferring patients to and from beds or wheelchairs.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to hygiene standards and protocols.
- Support healthcare professionals in various settings such as inpatient units, emergency medicine departments, operating rooms (OR), hospital medicine wards, pediatric intensive care units (PICU), and outpatient clinics.
- Document patient care activities accurately to ensure continuity of care.
Skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others.
- Ability to work in high-pressure environments typical of Level I Trauma Centers or emergency medicine settings.
- Familiarity with geriatric care practices is preferred.
