Role Summary and Responsibilities :
The Manager, Medical Economics will :
- Provide timely, accurate, actionable data and analysis supporting the operations at CareAbout Health, its VBC businesses, other business areas, and corporate key initiatives. proactively initiate and develop analytics for strategic and operating decisions and provide recommendations to senior management.
- Design and lead development of data-driven analysis and analytic tools for decision making on how CareAbout purchases, manages, and influences the cost of care for current and prospective members.
Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions :
Design and lead execution of analytics and reporting to measure or estimate financial impact of business problems and potential or actual solutions, such as revenue, burden of disease coding, medical expenditure trends.Utilize Athena EMR data to identify, enhance CareAbout's practice management and VBC strategies.Research and analyze financial data to draw conclusions and provide consultation to internal and external partners for use in administering specific programs and processes related to medical expense and utilization.Contribute and own aspects of the medical economics data environment, such as data mart design, ETL processing and so fortOwn all aspects of running HCC algorithms internally.Present analytical findings to internal and external business partners, including clinical, finance, operations teams, as well as front line medical group operators.Plan, conduct and direct work on complex projects / programs related to financial experience of CareAbout Health, particularly related to how care is purchased, managed, or other factors influencing cost of care.May lead / mentor less experienced staff.Perform additional duties as assigned.Qualifications :
BA / BS Required in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Healthcare or other related discipline, master's degree preferred.10 years of relevant, professional work experience required.3 years of experience managing staff preferred.Experience leading projects from beginning to end.Experience working in a healthcare setting (within a provider health system or health insurance company) required.Experience working with healthcare data including but not limited to claims, testing results, EMR and pharmacy data required.Deep expertise in burden of disease coding, such as HCCs required.Expert level ability to query, summarize, and manipulate data using SQL required.Strong communication skills (verbal, written, presentation, interpersonal) required.Experience preparing / presenting dashboards and data using a data visualization tool such as Domo preferred.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. A natural change agent, bias for action.High level of proficiency with MS Office, with an emphasis on Excel required.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.Adaptable to change in the organizational environment.Physical Requirements :

The Salary range for this position is
114 / yr - $158 / yr
Compensation is based on the level and requirements of the role.
Salary within our ranges may also be determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location, as required by the role, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
