Duties and Responsibilities

• Personal Care: Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
• Mobility and Transfers: Ensure the safe movement and transfer of patients, promoting their independence and dignity.
• Medication Administration: Administer medications as directed by healthcare professionals, prioritizing patient safety.
• Vital Signs Monitoring: Regularly monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes or concerns to medical personnel.
• Emotional Support: Offer emotional support and companionship to patients and their families, fostering a sense of belonging and connection.
• Environmental Maintenance: Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, adhering to infection control protocols.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Certification as a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) or Certified Home Health Aide (HHA)
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality
• Ability to cook simple meals and perform light housekeeping duties as needed
• Satisfactory completion of New York State Health Department-approved HHA Training Program or equivalency
• Adequate literacy and basic arithmetic skills
• Age 18 or older
