Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver personalized care to patients, including assistance with bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Ensure patient mobility and safety through proper transfers and support.
- Administer medications as directed by healthcare professionals, maintaining accurate records.
- Monitor vital signs and report any changes or concerns to medical personnel.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, adhering to infection control protocols.
Requirements:
- Certification as a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) or Certified Home Health Aide (HHA).
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and the importance of patient confidentiality.
- Ability to cook simple meals and perform light housekeeping duties as needed.
- Satisfactory completion of New York State Health Department-approved HHA Training Program or equivalency.
- Demonstrated adequate literacy and arithmetic skills.
- Age 18 or older.
