Our agency is seeking a Compassionate Support Worker to provide home care services to patients in Flemington, New Jersey. As a caregiver for seniors and individuals with disabilities, you will play a vital role in ensuring their safety and well-being in their own homes.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide personal care to patients, including bathing, dressing, and grooming, in accordance with their individual needs and preferences.
- Assist patients with mobility and transfers, using equipment such as walkers or wheelchairs as needed.
- Administer medications as directed by healthcare professionals, maintaining accurate records of medication administration.
- Monitor patients' vital signs, reporting any changes or concerns to the appropriate medical personnel.
- Offer emotional support and companionship to patients and their families, promoting a sense of comfort and well-being.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, adhering to infection control protocols and ensuring that living spaces are free from hazards.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Certification as a Home Health Aide (HHA) in the state of NJ is mandatory.
- You must possess reliable transportation and be eligible to work in the United States.
- Fluency in English is required, as is an understanding of HIPAA regulations and the importance of patient confidentiality.
- A satisfactory completion of New York State Health Department-approved HHA Training Program or equivalency is necessary.
- You must demonstrate adequate literacy and simple arithmetic skills, as well as be at least 18 years old.
