The responsibilities of this role include:
- Providing personal care services, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming, to patients in their homes.
- Assisting with mobility and transfers, ensuring patients' safety and well-being.
- Administering medications as directed by healthcare professionals.
- Monitoring vital signs and reporting any changes or concerns to the appropriate medical personnel.
- Providing emotional support and companionship to patients and their families.
- Maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients.
To be successful in this role, you must possess the following qualifications:
- Certified Personal Care Assistant (PCA) or Certified Home Health Aide (HHA)
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and the importance of patient confidentiality.
- Ability to cook simple meals and perform light housekeeping duties as needed.
- Satisfactory completion of New York State Health Department-approved HHA Training Program or equivalency
- Demonstrated adequate literacy and simple arithmetic skills
- Must be at least 18 years old
