Patient Care Companion
CareConnect seeks a compassionate and dedicated Patient Care Companion to provide exceptional care to our patients in their homes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing personal care services, including bathing, dressing, and grooming, is a primary responsibility.
- Assisting with mobility and transfers to ensure the safety and well-being of patients is crucial.
- Administration of medications as directed by healthcare professionals is also a key aspect of this role.
- Maintaining accurate records of vital signs and reporting any changes or concerns to medical personnel is essential.
- Offering emotional support and companionship to patients and their families promotes overall well-being.
- Maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients ensures compliance with health and safety regulations.
Requirements:
- Must be a Certified Home Health Aide (HHA) in the state of NY.
- Reliable transportation is required for visits to patients' homes.
- A minimum of 35 hours/week and every other weekend are expected commitments.
- Eligibility to work in the United States is mandatory.
- Fluent English speaking and understanding skills are necessary for effective communication.
- An understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality is crucial.
- Cooking simple meals and performing light housekeeping duties as needed are part of this role.
- Satisfactory completion of New York State Health Department-approved HHA Training Program or equivalency is required.
- Adequate literacy and simple arithmetic skills are essential.
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
