Job Summary: The Assistant Director of Nursing will assist the Director of Nursing in overseeing the daily operations of the nursing department, ensuring the highest standards of patient care, compliance with regulatory requirements, and effective management of nursing staff. This role involves both administrative and clinical responsibilities, including staff supervision, policy development, and direct patient care as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of nursing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with current standards and regulations.
- Supervise and support nursing staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
- Conduct regular rounds to monitor patient care and address any issues promptly.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure coordinated and efficient patient care.
- Participate in the admission process by assessing potential residents' nursing needs and ensuring appropriate placement.
- Assist in budget preparation and expense management to maintain departmental operations within financial constraints.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient care and staff activities.
- Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes to maintain compliance and improve patient care.
Qualifications:
- Current and Unemcumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Ohio.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred; an associate degree in Nursing (ADN) with relevant experience will be considered.
- Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Comprehensive knowledge of nursing principles, practices, and regulations.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle stressful situations with professionalism.
