Sr Bioinformatician

CareDx is seeking a talented bioinformatician to join the Data and AI group. 

Responsibilities:

The candidate will be part of the DATA and AI team at CareDx and will be responsible for all aspects of bioinformatics analysis for NGS products in production CLIA environment to aid the diagnosis and treatment of transplant patients. They will apply and develop bioinformatics and statistical methods to analyze and interpret NGS data, including targeted sequencing and omics datasets. Duties include:

• Collaborating with transitional scientists and clinical research associates for data analysis, and data interpretation/troubleshooting
• Developing tools and automated analysis for quality control and troubleshooting
• Work directly with the experimental lab members to analyze data and address scientific problems with bioinformatics techniques and tools
• Design, develop, and operate computational pipelines for the analysis of next-generation sequencing and genomic data
• Evaluate performance of novel technology platforms and assays
• Maintain detailed records of all analyses
• Present results and progress updates at lab meetings and make presentations to experimental and scientific collaborators
• Attend seminars, lectures, and training courses to learn new computational biology skills and learn new programming languages or techniques as necessary

Desired Qualifications:

• MS or PhD degree in Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Biomedical Informatics, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Life Sciences, Physics or related fields.
• 6 years of experience in molecular diagnostics and/or pharma
• Expertise in bioinformatics, computational genomics.
• Proficiency in computing and programming (Python, R, others).
• Experience with NGS data (targeted sequencing, WGS/WES, RNA-seq)
• Experience with Linux environment and scripting.
• Nice to have experience with cloud computing and database management.
• Familiarity with version control (git, etc)
• Strong interpersonal communication skills
