TITLE: Teacher, Health Occupations - Career & Tech 2025-2026
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 10 month
REPORTS TO: Career & Tech Building Principal
TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES: Provide training to juniors and seniors with classroom instruction, project-based learning and hands-on skills that would prepare students to be college and career ready in the fields of Health Occupations.
- Communicate with parents, teachers, home school counselors and others involved in the education of the student
- Maintain discipline in the classroom and work sites
- Monitor students’ academic progress including, but not limited to progress/marking period grades, attendance, hands-on performance skills
- Logging and monitoring hours for each student as required for program reporting
- Prepare student schedules for required clinical experiences
- Ensure the maintenance of the lab facility including inventory, supply replenishment and sanitation
- Implement 504 plans and IEPs for students with diverse learning needs
- Keep current with changes and developments in the health care field
- Other responsibilities as determined by the CTE Principal
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Teaching and work experience as a Nurse preferred. Excellent interpersonal skills and work ethic.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must have or be eligible for: NYS Teaching Certification. Must hold a Registered Nurse License.
