What are the responsibilities and job description for the Teacher, Public Safety Services, CTE (Anticipated) position at Career and Technical Education?
TITLE: Teacher, Public Safety - Career & Tech for the 2025/2026 school year
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 10 Month
REPORTS TO: Career & Tech Building Principal
TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES: Provide training to juniors and seniors with class room instruction, project-based learning and hands-on skills that would prepare students to be college and career ready in the fields of law enforcement, security, corrections and other public safety occupations.
- Communicate with parents, teachers, home school counselors and others involved with the education of the student
- Maintain discipline in the classroom and work sites
- Monitor students’ academic progress including, but not limited to progress/marking period grades, attendance, hands-on performance skills
- Implement 504 plans and IEPs for students with diverse learning needs
- Keep current with changes and development in public safety industries
- Other responsibilities as determined by the CTE Principal
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Teaching and work experience as a police officer, detective, investigator, or security services preferred. Excellent interpersonal skills and work ethic.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must have or be eligible for: NYS Certified Security Operations 7-12
