Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Director of Education to lead our educational programs within the healthcare sector. This role is pivotal in shaping the training and development of nursing staff, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to provide exceptional care. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing, home care, and acute care settings, combined with expertise in nursing administration and medical terminology.
Duties
- Develop, implement, and oversee educational programs for nursing staff, ensuring alignment with industry standards and best practices.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the organization.
- Normal work day is defined in section 3:50 of the official policy manual.
- Administration of the practical nursing program.
- Liaison with other faculty at CCSI and with all clinical sites.
- Assists with preparation and administration of the practical nursing budget.
- Facilitation of nursing faculty development and performance review.
- Facilitation and coordination of activities related to academic policies, personnel policies, curriculum, resource facilities and services, and program evaluation.
- Liaison with the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation and Accrediting Organization.
- Participates in any other duties as assigned by the Director.
Experience
- A valid nursing license with extensive experience in home care or acute care settings.
- Proven experience in supervising educational programs or staff within a healthcare environment.
- An earned Master's Degree with a major in nursing.
- At least two years experience in clinical nursing practice.
- At least two years experience as an instructor in a nursing education program or experience as a nurse educator.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Twelve months per year with 20 vacation days, 13 sick days, and 2 personal days. Salary and wages established by the Board of Control.
