Our client is one of California’s largest workers’ compensation defense law firms and they are looking to add an Attorney to their team. The position is 100% remote if you are based near a major city in California (occasional need to be in court/board). The firm has over 325 employees and continuing to grow.
As part of their dynamic legal team, you will represent clients in workers' compensation defense claims and litigate matters with expertise and dedication. The ideal candidate will have a background in workers' compensation law, a proactive approach to client service, and a commitment to achieving favorable outcomes.
If you have over 5 years of experience the role can be “Senior Attorney”.
Responsibilities:
- Legal Representation: Provide expert legal representation in workers' compensation defense cases, including handling hearings, depositions, mediations, and settlement negotiations.
- Legal Strategy & Analysis: Conduct thorough legal research, analyze complex cases, and develop sound legal strategies to defend clients’ interests.
- Client Relations: Build and maintain strong, ongoing relationships with clients, providing clear communication and timely updates.
- Collaboration: Work closely with fellow attorneys and support staff to provide cohesive and comprehensive legal services.
- Documentation & Case Management: Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, and case briefs. Maintain organized case files and ensure deadlines are met.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in the California State Bar.
- 3 years of experience in workers’ compensation defense or a similar practice area.
- Proven ability to handle complex cases, legal research, and litigation matters.
