Electrical Substation Engineer
Location: Edison, NJ | Full-Time | 5 Years Experience Preferred
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Substation Engineer to join our client's team in Edison, NJ. This role is essential in coordinating with engineers and other construction trades using Revit, AutoCAD MEP, and Navisworks to produce high-quality electrical installation drawings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize Revit, AutoCAD MEP, and Navisworks to coordinate in a 3D environment with other building trades.
- Develop detailed electrical installation drawings from contract documents and specifications.
- Generate spreadsheets from one-line drawings for feeder, conduit, and wire lengths.
- Perform calculations for voltage drop, circuit ampacity, and pull box sizing.
- Create detailed shop drawings for electrical equipment, conduit, bus duct layouts, and pads.
- Ensure designs and installations comply with NEC codes.
- Modify existing drawings based on engineering design or construction changes.
- Communicate project status and maintain productivity and quality of design.
- Travel to various project sites as needed.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
- Formal education in electrical engineering.
- 5 years of experience in a high-volume electrical contractor design environment
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong knowledge of NEC and NFPA codes.
- Hands-on experience in the building electrical field with an electrical contractor is a plus.
- Basic understanding of electrical systems, including lighting, power, and fire alarm.
- PE or EIT preferred NOT REQUIRED
