Position Details:
- Temporary to possible hire openings;
- Up to $30/hr. (depending on experience) with the following 2nd shift available: 2:30pm - 11:00pm, Mon - Fri;

Position Summary: The Machinist will perform complex fabrication, shaping, modification and repair work performed on a variety of electric rotating and linear equipment, including parts and tools used on machinery and equipment.
- This work involves the calculation of dimensions and tolerances, the set-up, adjustment and operation of machine tools.
- The Machinists work with various types of metals, plastics, imperial and metric measurements and close tolerances.
The ideal candidates will be able to:
- Perform all mechanical measurements as they relate to the rebuilding of motor components and tooling
- Use basic mathematical capabilities with an understanding of tolerances and bearing fits
- Read mechanical drawings and specifications to applicable standards
- Use their knowledge of mechanical instruments, calibration techniques and requirements
- Operate principles and the use of the following equipment and maintaining them: Milling Machine, Lathe Machine (Set-up and Operation), Drill Press (vertical and radial), Undercutting machines and tools (Automatic and Manual), Balancing Machine, Brush Plating Machine (SIFCO)
- Understand undercutting requirements, polishing, finishing (i.e.-deburring) as specified in Internal Test Reports
- Use overhead cranes and material handling equipment
- Understand documentation requirements of work performed
- Understand Internal Test Reports
- Use welding principles and application - Basic manual ARC welding
- Use Pneumatic, Hydraulic and Air Tools
- Understand safety concepts and ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System
- Perform related duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Must possess a valid General Machinist Certificate of Qualification and a Certificate of Apprenticeship, normally obtained through Grade 12 technical school education or its equivalent (HS Diploma/GED)
- Must have a mechanical or electrical aptitude
- Overhead crane experience
- Any welding experience is a plus
- Mill machine, lathe or drill press experience
- Must be able to use calipers, micrometers and read blue prints
- Two years experience in a related industry
- Must wear steel toe boots
