Trust and Estate Attorney
Career Consulting Partners is excited to collaborate with a prominent Southern California law firm that has been serving families for over a century. This esteemed firm specializes in a broad spectrum of legal services, including business, real estate, tax law, estate planning, probate, and employment law. Through carefully planned mergers, they have expanded their practice to include intellectual property and financial services, now proudly employing over 50 attorneys. We are in search of an attorney with a focus on trust and estate matters.
IDEAL CANDIDATE :
- Will manage all aspects of trust administration, including post-mortem trust administration.
- Prepare and review trust accountings to ensure compliance with the California Probate Code.
- Oversee the transfer and management of trust assets, including real estate, securities, and other property.
- Communicate with beneficiaries regarding their rights, distributions, and any concerns.
- Coordinate with tax professionals on fiduciary tax returns and other tax-related matters.
- Handle probate proceedings, including preparing and filing probate petitions, attending court appearances, and managing the probate process.
- Prepare inventories and secure appraisals for estate assets.
- Address and resolve creditor claims and other liabilities of the estate or trust.
- Oversee the final distribution of estate assets to heirs and beneficiaries in compliance with California law.
- Draft and review petitions, orders, and other court filings related to trusts and estates.
- Prepare trust amendments, restatements, and other trust-related legal documents.
- Provide legal analysis and advisory memoranda on trust and estate matters.
- Meet with clients to discuss estate planning documents, trust terms, and administration processes.
- Collaborate with accountants, financial advisors, appraisers, and other professionals to facilitate efficient administration.
- Assist with mediation, negotiation, and litigation in trust and estate disputes, including drafting and negotiating settlement agreements.
- Ensure compliance with the California Probate Code, trust laws, and relevant tax regulations.
- Stay up-to-date on changes in California trust and estate laws and regulations.
