Junior Software Developer ( Front End Tech) ( 6 Month Contract) ( Hybrid in Lawrence Township, NJ)

Location: Hybrid in Lawrence Township, New Jersey / The schedule initially is 4 days in the office and 1 day remote (either Tues, Wed, or Thurs).

Once the person is up and running, they can do 2 remote days.

Rate: $30-35 per hour

Must Haves:

Position Summary/Major Goals

Collaborate with the business and technology teams to create, refine, and develop proprietary project and financial management software applications. Participate in the entire software development lifecycle.

Major Job Responsibilities And Essential Criteria For Successful Accomplishment

• SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT - Work with and understand the Product Owner's outlines to produce optimal code.
• Promptly develop and design a user-friendly interface consistent with user experience standards.
• Research and prepare solutions for complex technical issues. Coordinate with teams to develop proposed options.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
• Perform code reviews and testing to ensure the software meets quality standards.
• Troubleshoot and debug software issues.
• Develop, manage, and maintain development tools and resources for development teams to use on multiple projects.
• Support the team's development workflow.
• Research effectiveness of current technical resources. Identify potential performance improvements and implement solutions.
• Actively participate in the Agile process (e.g., daily stand-ups, retrospectives, etc.)
• Organize and prepare documentation for resulting systems and translate developmental code and business processes to assist the documentation team with creating technical manuals and training materials.
• Provide support to end-users as necessary.
• Respond to requests for assistance from the development team.
• QA - Perform application audits and reviews to enhance the reliability and efficiency of application development before deployment to production. Research and implement options for enhancement.
• Participate in peer reviews and provide feedback for incoming work items.
• Organize and prepare documentation for new features.
• Provide a wide range of support for live applications.
• LEARN - Continually improving software development knowledge and skills.
• Learn new technologies and programming languages to stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices.
• Learn the codebase and improve your coding skills.
• Attend meetings to discuss software development and contribute to the meetings with new ideas.
  
  

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Proficient with the software development lifecycle

Ability to solve complex problems ask questions, and challenge assumptions to create more efficient deliverables

Thorough working knowledge of programming concepts, including:

• Stateless vs. stateful programming
• Object-oriented programming
• Service-oriented architecture
• API (Application Programming Interface)

Working knowledge of the following technologies:

• PHP
• JavaScript
• HTML/CSS
• MySQL

Experience with the following technologies a plus:

• Atlassian Stack: Jira, Confluence and BitBucket
• PHP Frameworks: Laminas, Laravel
• NodeJS
• MongoDB
• Docker
• Redis
• Vue
• Education:
• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree. NOTE: Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional experience as indicated above on a year-for-year basis with thirty (30) semester hour credits being equal to one (1) year of experience.
• Experience:
• One (1) year of programming, systems analysis, or computer analysis experience.
