What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Manager / Assistant Controller position at Career Group?
Elevated baby apparel brand is seeking an Accounting Manager or Assistant Controller to join its growing team. As the company’s first in-house accounting hire reporting to the CEO, this person will execute on day-to-day accounting/bookkeeping functions as well as some HR tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all accounting activities for DTC and wholesale business lines
- Manage accounting operations and assist with financial reporting
- Execute on daily activities for GL, AP, AR, revenue, commissions, and payroll
- Manage the monthly close process
- Prepare financial statements in accordance with US GAAP
- Handle some HR tasks, including onboarding and offboarding
- Act as strategic thought partner to CEO for new initiatives and process improvements.
- Liaise with external CPA as needed for tax requirements
- Support internal operational programs
- Support annual budgeting and planning process
- Work alongside other departments on various projects.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s in Accounting or related; CPA preferred
- 5 years of progressive experience in accounting
- Experience working within a start-up organization experience a plus
- Strong understanding of GAAP and technical accounting
- Ability to work independently
- Experience with QuickBooks a plus
- Experience in designing and implementing accounting processes and controls
- Excellent collaboration and relationship-building skills
- Analytical; high attention to detail, organized with exceptional time-management skills
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels in the organization
Compensation: $110-145K base commensurate with experience plus bonus and competitive benefits package
Salary : $110,000 - $145,000
