HR Generalist - Operations
A global investment manager that invests in business across many industries with offices across the globe is seeking an HR Generalist focuses on Operations & Benefits to join their team as they continue to grow. This role is coming in to join their new asset management division so will have the opportunity to really own the role. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a deep understanding of HR best practices and a commitment to fostering a positive and compliant work environment. The candidate should work independently, multitask, demonstrate foresight, take ownership and responsibility over their assignments, be a willing and eager team player, be highly responsive and efficient and have the willingness to learn and adapt in a very fluid environment. Employee Population is around 250.
Salary range commensurate with experience: $120-150k base (slight flex DOE) disc bonus generous benefits package - fully paid benefits, 401k, fertility benefits, and additional top perks
Location: Midtown New York, NY near Central Park (with some flexibility to travel to the Greenwich, CT office on occasion)
Onsite 5 days/week (some flexibility on Fridays at the discretion of the manager)
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate employee benefits programs, including health insurance, dental, vision, life insurance, and other wellness benefits and assist with 401 (k) education and resources.
- Act as a point of contact for employees for all benefits-related questions and issues and assist with the annual benefits enrollment process.
- Work closely with immigration attorneys to ensure compliance with immigration laws and regulations advising managers and employees.
- Maintain accurate records for visa-related employees and provide necessary documentation for audits or legal inquiries.
- Provide general HR assistance across various functions, including employee relations, performance management, and policy implementation.
- Assist with recruitment including on-campus recruitment and internship programs
Qualifications:
- 5-8 years of experience in human resources required, specifically HR operations and employee engagement, with 3 years’ experience in areas listed under Responsibilities
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Experience in Financial Services a plus
- Experience in setting up and managing HR related operations in satellite offices outside the United States a plus
- Strong interpersonal, communication and problem-solving capabilities
- Strong and concise written and verbal communication skills and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Excellent listening skills, sensitivity to social issues and strong sense of discretion and decorum
- Commitment to supporting a diverse and inclusive environment
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite especially Outlook, Excel, Word and Power point; Dayforce knowledge a plus
- Mature, dedicated, reliable, thorough and professional, with hands-on attitude and willingness to perform all responsibilities required for success
- Strong work ethic, humble and empathetic with an entrepreneurial mindset
- Position based in New York, must be willing to commute regularly to other offices with Some additional travel may be required
