Senior Planner – Upstream Oil & Gas (Alaska)
Are you a skilled Senior Planner with expertise in EPC projects and critical path method (CPM) scheduling? We're seeking a detail-oriented professional to drive accurate, logic-driven schedules for large-scale upstream oil & gas projects in Alaska. Your work will be essential in ensuring flawless project execution and minimizing schedule risks.
📍 Location Requirement: Must currently reside in Alaska or have previous experience working in Alaska’s upstream O&G industry.
✅ What You’ll Need:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or a related field required.
- Certifications: PMP or PSP certification preferred.
- Experience:10 years of project planning and scheduling experience in the oil & gas industry.
- Proven track record with EPC, FEED, and construction planning for large capital projects.
- Experience with offshore, onshore, and refinery projects.
- Familiarity with U.S. regulatory compliance and permitting processes.
💻 Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and SAP.
- Strong knowledge of schedule risk analysis tools (e.g., Acumen Fuse, Monte Carlo simulations).
- Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) and KPI tracking.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and execution plans.
📌 What You’ll Do:
Project Scheduling & Controls:
- Develop, manage, and update detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 and other industry tools.
- Perform critical path analysis (CPA) to ensure schedules align with project execution plans.
- Identify schedule risks, conduct risk analysis (SRA), and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Track progress, analyze deviations, and provide accurate forecasting reports to senior management.
- Coordinate schedule integration across engineering, procurement, and construction teams.
Planning & Execution Support:
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Cost Engineers, and Procurement teams to align cost, schedule, and scope.
- Assist in developing work breakdown structures (WBS) and resource allocation plans.
- Provide input for contractor assessments and construction planning.
- Ensure all planning activities comply with industry regulations, policies, and contractual requirements.
Risk & Change Management:
- Assess the impact of project changes on overall schedules.
- Identify and escalate schedule risks, proposing proactive solutions.
- Support project claims and delay analysis alongside commercial teams.
Stakeholder & Client Communication:
- Present scheduling insights, progress reports, and risk assessments to senior leadership.
- Lead planning meetings and facilitate coordination between project teams, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Maintain clear, effective communication between planning and commercial functions.
