Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participate in the development of the PCP and when applicable Behavior Plans and implementation and documentation of the portion of the plan(s) related to the Employment Program.
  • Actively work to develop competitive community-based and/or center-based employment options for Linwood program participants. Options should be in line with the interests and abilities of the individuals.
  • Assist the Employment Services Manager with reports required by the State of Maryland
  • Assist the Employment Services Manager with review of LTSS service documentation submitted by job coach DSPs.
  • Support individuals in all aspects of employment or potential employment. This may include interviewing, resume writing, completing employment applications and other paperwork required as necessary for community-based job placement.
  • Determine and put into place the specific requirements at job sites, including the number of individuals assigned, the number of job coaches assigned, each person’s schedule, and supplies needed.
  • Train the job coach and individuals on all tasks at job sites. Assure job coach knows all tasks and is able to coach the individuals.
  • Develop task analyses or checklists when these tasks are required.
  • Ensure that all tasks at the job site are being completed up to employer’s standards.
  • The Lead Job Coach shall understand all aspects of the job site so that he/she can supervise the job coaches and individuals effectively.
  • Ensure that the fundamental rights of each individual in the program are secured.
  • The Lead Job Coach shall be trained and certified by Linwood’s nurse(s) and will carry out the duties of a Certified Medication Technician as delegated by the nurse(s) and as prescribed by the Board of Nursing and DDA.

Other Duties & Responsibilities

  • May perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)

  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • High School diploma or GED, plus one (1) year of related experience OR an Associate’s degree plus one (1) year of related experience and/or training.
  • Knowledge of and respect for diverse populations is required.
  • Must demonstrate interest and ability to address the developmental and social and emotional needs of adults with intellectual disabilities.
  • Must be energetic and enthusiastic, as well as patient and understanding.
  • Must be flexible enough to work cooperatively with other staff in addressing the physical, social, emotional and behavioral needs of individuals.
  • Must demonstrate an understanding of adult rights and self-determination and assure that Linwood’s program participants are afforded these rights.
  • Must possess strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Must possess excellent presentation skills.
  • The ability to work independently in a team environment is necessary, as is flexibility to meet program needs.
  • Must have the ability to represent the agency, our programs and services to the public.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, a good driving record, the use of a vehicle, and the willingness to transport program participants in a personal and/or agency vehicle.
