Spang Engineered Solutions, a division of Spang & Company, has an opening for a Facilities & Production Supervisor at its Pittsburgh, PA location. This position will be responsible for planning, implementing, and maintaining the facility and equipment, including providing general maintenance for the repair and upkeep at the corporate office building site. The role will also maintain safe, efficient, and productive operations in manufacturing and assembly areas including monitoring, developing, and coordinating production processes and enforcing departmental work and safety rules.
Spang Engineered Solutions designs and manufactures custom inductive components for an array of industries including renewable energy, solar, medical, aerospace, automotive, and military. Our manufacturing locations include Pittsburgh, PA, Phoenix AZ, McKinney, TX in the U.S.A., and Xiamen, China.
Primary responsibilities will include:
Facilities:
- Determine facility and equipment specifications.
- Evaluate operational systems, facility infrastructure, and energy use to ascertain and improve operational efficiencies.
- Plan and coordinate infrastructure and equipment maintenance and inspection schedules.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, building codes, and health and safety standards.
- Requisition purchases and services in IFS.
- Partner with vendors and contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective services are provided relative to the facility and equipment.
- Perform cleaning and maintenance activities to maintain the building, grounds, and fixtures.
- Perform repairs in minor electrical, minor plumbing, minor carpentry, and painting. May do basic welding.
- Move furniture, receive deliveries of equipment, stock, etc., and perform shipping duties.
- Operate general power tools, groundskeeping equipment, and forklift.
- Coordinate annual inspections (elevator, crane, fire, sprinkler, etc.)
Production:
- Monitor production processes and troubleshoot production-related problems.
- Coordinate machine and equipment repairs.
- Create, update, and revise work schedules.
- Record, analyze, and adjust production results using ERP
- Monitor and maintain compliance with the Company’s ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality programs.
Qualifications include an Associate's Degree in Business, Engineering, or a related area. 5 years of facilities management and production supervision in a manufacturing ERP environment is required. Experience in production processes, maintenance of equipment, and shipping/packaging is essential.
