What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intern - Underwriting Services position at Career Opportunities?
This internship opportunity is based in our Neenah office. The ideal candidate for the position will be available to start in Summer 2025 and will graduate in May 2026 or later with a Bachelor’s degree.
This can be a year-round internship; during the summer and school breaks, the position is 40 hours per week. During the school year, this position can be part-time (approximately 15-20 hours per week) based on your class schedule and our company’s business hours, which are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide general processing support to underwriters and agents
- Learn about the insurance industry through training, self-study classes, job shadowing and ride along opportunities
- Perform targeted project work
- Assist UW Services management with reporting needs
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Junior or Senior undergraduate candidates working toward a business focused degree
- Must be a self-starter
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to make decisions after analyzing underwriting data
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Skills in the following software programs - Word, Excel, Outlook
- Ability to learn new skills quickly
