What are the responsibilities and job description for the Onion Tank Operator position at Career Opportunities?
An Onion Tank Operator is an individual with a strong ability to work with their hands, machine operating experience, as well as an eye for detail. Work with little supervision while following all health and safety standards is essential. The goal is to contribute to the construction of Secondary Spill Containment Berms and Oil Containment Liners. A successful applicant should be hardworking, reliable and have good communication and organizational skills.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- To accurately read and understand written work order instructions and take accurate measurements to ensure quality.
- Use hand tools required to perform the job. These include but not limited to; hammers, tape measures, utility knives, and scissors.
- Work with materials such as vinyl, foam, aluminum and steel
- Measure, cut and seam vinyl panels
- Complete inspections and conduct rework if needed.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- Have a great attitude and willing to grow with the company
- Diligently follow safe work practices for yourself and team members at all times.
- Must be able to work in a flexible team environment with job rotation as needed
- Must be able to work overtime as needed
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of measurements using a tape measure.
Working Conditions
- Able to lift and carry 50lbs to waist and over head
- Ability to use ladders at least 10 feet off the ground
- Ability to bend, twist, stand and walk up to 10 hours per day.
- Wear all required PPE including: knee pads, cut resistant gloves, hearing protection and safety glasses
- Good physical condition and endurance
- Ability to work in high heat conditions.
