Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Analysis and Optimization:
- Analyze inventory levels, transactions, and variances to identify trends and discrepancies.
- Design and optimize inventory flow processes, including receiving, storage, picking, and shipping, to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of inventory processes with production and supply chain operations. Partner with operations, procurement, and finance teams to align inventory practices with business goals.
- Serve as the primary owner of inventory management for the site, ensuring accurate records and compliance with policies.
- Provide actionable insights and reports to management to drive decision-making.
- Lead and support internal and external inventory audits.
- Implement and maintain best practices in inventory management and control.
- Leverage inventory management systems (ERP, WMS, or other relevant platforms) to ensure accurate tracking and reporting.
Physical Inventory:
- Develop, implement, and manage a robust cycle counting program to ensure inventory accuracy and compliance with company policies. Regularly review and adjust counting schedules to address high-risk or high-value areas.
- Identify and conduct Root Cause Analysis and present problem resolution for any inventory discrepancies
- Develop and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Plan, coordinate, and lead the execution of annual or quarterly physical inventory counts for the site, ensuring alignment with company and regulatory standards.
- Oversee all aspects of the physical inventory process, including scheduling, team coordination, data reconciliation, and reporting. Identify and address discrepancies uncovered during physical inventory, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Understand and analyze the financial impact of inventory changes on the general ledger.
- Work closely with the finance team to reconcile inventory records and support accurate financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements related to inventory management.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Track and report on key inventory control KPIs, such as inventory accuracy, cycle count completion rates, and inventory turnover.
- Develop strategies to achieve or exceed KPI targets.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field (preferred).
- 5 years of experience in inventory control, materials management, or related roles in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in root cause analysis.
- Proficiency in ERP/WMS systems and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent understanding of inventory flow, cycle counting principles, physical inventory processes, and financial impacts on the general ledger.
- Proven ability to lead and train teams, manage projects, and drive process improvements.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills:
- APICS or other relevant certifications (e.g., CPIM, CSCP).
- Experience with Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements for inventory in a manufacturing setting.
